Eligibility Criteria for M.Ed Course

The following are the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Ed course at Vinayaga Education College:

  • Academic Qualifications: The candidate must have passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination in Education from this University or any other University recognized by the syndicate as equivalent, with a minimum of 50% marks in theory and practicals separately.
  • Selection Process: Selection will be based on the existing regulations of the University and Government of Tamil Nadu. Reservation of seats for SC, ST, MBC/DNC, BC, and other special categories will be in accordance with the statutory provisions of the government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Dissertation Requirement: No candidate will be eligible for the M.Ed degree unless they have completed the prescribed course of study, passed the qualifying examination, and satisfied the examiners in their dissertation.

Duration of the M.Ed Course:


The M.Ed course is designed to be completed over two academic years, following the CBCS Semester Pattern.


Subjects of Study


The course consists of:

  • Dissertation:
    • The candidate must submit a dissertation with a maximum of 120 pages, representing original research supervised by an eligible guide.
    • Dissertation submission should be completed within 10 days after the last theory exam date.
    • Dissertation can be written in either Tamil or English.
    • The dissertation must be submitted within three years from the date of joining the course.
    • Each eligible guide can supervise a maximum of 5 candidates.
